Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph O. and Rose A. (Archambault) Desmarais, she was a life long resident of Fairhaven.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Prior to her retirement, she was a bus monitor for Medeiros Bus.
Marie loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughters. She loved to listen to music and dance. She also enjoyed her costume jewelry and shopping as well.
Marie is survived by her children, Kim M. Brittain and her husband David of Westport and William P. Berche and his wife Susan of Fairhaven; her granddaughters, Jillian Isherwood, Julie Amaral and Joselyn Berche. She was the sister of the late Jeanette Laplante.
