A lifelong resident of the area, he was the son of the late Joseph and Doris (Jabotte) Riggin.
He is survived by his aunts, Janet Parker whom he resided with; great aunt, Lula Wareing of New Bedford, Jean Jabotte of Fairhaven and Charlene Riggin of Fairhaven; a godson, Matthew Nadeau of Maine and many cousins.
Janet would like to thank her neighbors for all their kindness that they've shown to her and Michael. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
