Milton G. Perry

Milton George Perry, 82, of Fairhaven, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Joyce A. (Beckman) Perry with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late George and Frances (Fielding) Perry, he had resided in Fairhaven since 1980.

Mr. Perry had worked as a night watchman for Fairhaven Shipyard until his retirement. Previously, he worked in the textile industry at Vanessa Manufacturing and Cliftex Corp.

Milton enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, Flicka and Mary. He was an avid reader and looked forward to reading the morning newspaper at breakfast. He also enjoyed word search puzzles and watching the weather forecast. Milton enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving in addition to his wife Joyce, his daughter, Jennifer A. Travis; a brother, Albert Perry; a sister, Eleanor; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Shirley, Claire, Scarlet, Irene, Oliver and Gerald.

His Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11am in Acushnet Cemetery, 91 Main St., Acushnet. Arrangements are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
