Ruth Ramos

Born in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late John C. and Ida (Paulette) Silva, she had resided in New Bedford for the past 64 years.

A vibrant and cheerful person, Mrs. Ramos enjoyed drawing, cooking, dancing and the company of her loving family.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Carlos Ramos; two daughters, Juanita Reis and her husband Joseph and Lisa Ramos and her husband Michael Gonsalves all of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Shadrick Reis and Talyah Gonsalves of New Bedford; her sister-in-law, Josephine Da Rosa of Mansfield; a cousin, Irene Dugan of Vineyard Haven; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Lopes and Manuel and John Silva.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 8am in Our Lady of the Assumption, 47 So. Sixth St., New Bedford. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458-1287.
