GERALD “JERRY” L. NONEMAKER, 98, of Akron, OH (formerly of Steubenville, OH) went to be with the Lord Friday morning, March 9, surrounded by his family. He was born March 7, 1920, in Three Springs, PA, the oldest child of the late Elmer and Ida (Fix) Nonemaker. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of Lakemore United Methodist Church. He was proud to have served in the US Navy on the USS Jenkins during WW II and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was retired from a career in computer engineering for Goodyear Aerospace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives Helen (Ferguson), Virginia (Booth), and Stella (Cutlip) Nonemaker; sister Ruth Burton; brothers Hubert, Blaine, Kenneth, and Howard Nonemaker; and step-daughter Kathy Brookbank. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Sherry (Larry) Schromm, sons Gary (Nancy) and David Nonemaker, step-daughter Glenna (David) Cook, sister-in-law Sara Nonemaker, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his dear friend Annette Lueck. Friends may call at the Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, 3653 W. Market St., from 5-8pm Tuesday and 10am till time of service at 11am Wednesday.
