“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Mt 25:23.

Joyce, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, completed her earthly work on January 19, 2021 at the age of 85.

Joyce grew up on Akron’s North Hill and graduated from North High School. The majority of her work-life was dedicated to serving the Akron Fire Dept. Credit Union for 27 years before retiring as the Manager in 2000.

Joyce never knew a stranger; she greeted everyone with a “Hi, honey.” She was always ready to organize a party, vacation with family or friends, or go out to enjoy a meal. Joyce served her church and Lord with enthusiasm and love, and would help anyone in need. She was a long-standing member of Northampton United Methodist Church (NUMC), volunteered for years at Royal Family Kids Camp (RFKC), a camp for abused and neglected children, and served in various community outreach programs at Heart 4 The City (H4TC).

She is preceded in death by her parents David and Olive Evans, loving husband Phillip, beloved son Paul, daughter-in-law Becky and grandson Nathan.

She leaves behind her children Iris (Ray) Para, Lake Wales, FL., Zeke (Candy) Glasgow, Jackson, OH., Kathy (Greg Raies) Priebe, Akron, OH., Beth Glasgow, Cuyahoga Falls, OH., Lori Glasgow (daughter-in-law), Stow, OH.; her grandchildren Mark (Beth), Kim (Rox), Dan (Michele), Matt, Joshua (Jackie), Kerry (Chris), Jon (Kattie), Aaron, Seth, Lainie, and Jeremy; great-grandchildren Bob, Nathanael, Elisha (Caleb), Elaina, Noelle, Nataly, Gwyneth, Chloe, Nehemiah, Ruth, Joy, and Dessa; brothers Dale (Noreen) Evans and Dave (Judy) Evans; many special nieces and nephews and too many friends to list.

The family will hold a private memorial service on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm which will be streamed live from Northampton United Methodist Church, and will be available for viewing afterwards at the following website or through the church's website.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff members of Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls and Summa Hospice who provided the additional support and care she needed these last two years.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Joyce can be made to: Royal Family Kids Camp, Northampton United Methodist Church 852 W. Bath Rd., Cuyahoga. Falls, OH 44223; Heart 4 The City 954 Eastland Ave., Akron, Ohio 44305; or a charity of your choice.

We were very sad when we saw Joyce’s obituary in the paper recently. She was such a fine lady and a good friend for over 40 years, where we first met her at the Northampton UMC. We have many fond memories of her and Phil through the years. She always had a smile on her face whenever you saw her, no matter what kind of day she was having. A beautiful light has gone out and will be forever missed. Our sincere condolences to the entire Family.

Joyce, Sue VanCleave, and myself shared many special times together. Those special times go back to before we all were married. Sue and myself each married and moved out of town but stayed in touch. The last time we were all together was at Joyce’s home. I know she is at peace in Heaven and will be missed.

Dear Glasgow family, especially Beth and Aaron:
What a wonderful tribute you paid to Grandma Joyce in her obituary with her story and awesome pictures and at the funeral celebration of her life with family! I watched online and sang along with "How Great Thou Art." John, Aaron, Ruth, Dave, and everyone involved truly memorialized her life and legacy. She loved you so much, and she knew the love that you had for her never wavered. We will see her again in Glory.
One prominent memory I have of Joyce is her clean house, and the first time I met her, she was washing windows. A fun memory I have of her is at her retirement party from managing the Akron Fire Department Credit Union. When the Polka music started, her nephew Dale said "I think I have a Polka in my future," and within minutes they were on the stage dancing the night away.
She was an active, hard worker who always hit the ground running, and her memory will remain with her loved ones.
May God bless you and keep you.

To Joyce and Phil’s beautiful family
So sorry for your loss. They were wonderful friends to Jack and I.
They stood up for Jack and I when we married after them in September 1958.
I have known Joyce since the 7th grade in Jr.high school and remained friends all those years.
She will be missed by many.
Please stay in touch
Love and prayers
Rosie (She was the only one who called me that)
