He graduated from Springfield High School in 1967 and had retired from teaching for Akron Public Schools. A believer in the values and lessons learned through sports, he devoted much his life coaching a variety of youth and high school sports including wrestling, baseball, and football, most notably “Coach” Clark was a staff member of the Ellet High School football team where he served for a period of time spanning more than 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman that felt life was best lived outside. He loved his dogs.
He is survived by his greatest pride and wife Karen (Huseby), his two sons Robert Jr and Brian Clark, daughter-in-law Stacy Clark (Hurley), his 3 granddaughters Landry Clark, Taylor and Carley Hurley, and special friend Sharon Carpenter. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, fellow coaches, and life long friends that are nothing short of family. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Francis Clark, sister Karen Schott, father-in-law Norman Huseby, and mother-in-law Mary Huseby.
Private services are scheduled at Rose Hill Funeral Home for Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 am. Memorials can be made to Ellet High School All Sports Booster Club in Akron, Ohio or Friends of West Branch State Park In Ravenna, Ohio.
