Shirley Ann Jones (McCraney) went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. She was born on October 11, 1945 in Barberton, Ohio to the late F.D. and Glaner McCraney.

Shirley completed her education at Copley High School. To know Shirley was to love her. Her bright and giving nature served her well in life and in her employment positions at Clarkins, Gold Circle, and most recently at Sterling/Signet Jewelers, where she retired after 30 years of service. Her positive attitude was a magnet for anyone who needed it. Her smile was infectious and you couldn’t help but be lifted by her caring personality.

In her 75 years, she loved dancing, bowling, entertaining, baking, shopping, and keeping her family happy.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, F.D. and Glaner McCraney; brothers, Delbert, Larry, Terry, Fred and Frank McCraney; sisters, Vesther Bradley, Cecilia Terry and Joyce Baker.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Norman Jones; Sister, Janice McCraney; Mother-in-law Lula B. Jones; Sisters-in-law Jeannie Jones and Joanne Starks; daughters, Wanda and Somora Jones; grandchildren, Aarion and Juan Decatur, Johnny and Dallas Gissendaner; great-grandchildren, Kassidy Gills, Marqess and Marqese Wesley, all of Akron, Ohio; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends that she touched on her journey. She will be forever loved, remembered, and missed.

You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she lived!

Shirley was a really good friend at work. She allways had such a beautiful smile, and was allways a ray of sunshine! She will be greatly missed , she touched so many hearts! I remember how she said if it was a dreary day, "Honey you got to make your own sunshine!" and she was so right, and I felt so much better. She had a Heart of gold! I will miss you and cherish our friendship forever!

Shirley was friends with my late husband Vance before I met her. She always called me his sugar. Once I met her and we became friends we called her his brown sugar. Love you Shirley and miss you.

I started signet jewlers in '94. I met Shirley when I started in watch repair 2 years later. We became friends immediately. My mother passed away a few years later. She helped guide me thru those hard times. I could always talk to her and she knew just what to say. She had a heart of gold. She was always there so others. I will sorely miss her and her smiling face and sunny attitude. I know I'm a better person for being friends with her. She touched so many life's. She was loved and be missed by all who knew her.

Shirley always had a smile on her face. She could light up a room with just a few magic words. I will miss Shirley.
