Albert I. Morales

Albert I. Morales, 88, of Highland, Illinois, born April 4, 1926, in Fairmont City, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at home. Mr. Morales proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps, in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairview Heights, Ill. and former member of the Collinsville VFW Post 5691. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, fishing and camping/traveling with family. He was a kind, gentle man who loved to play whiffle ball and soccer with his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Juana (née Arellano); two brothers, Joseph Morales and Peter Morales, in infancy; and three sisters, Luicille Garcia, Olivia Martinez and Rita Gonzales; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Morales.

Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy Morales (née Bower); his children, Nancy (William G., Jr.) Owler, of Quakertown, Penn. and Kenneth (Carol) Morales, of Alhambra, Illinois; his grandchildren, W. Gordan (Gloria) Owler III, Jonathan Owler, Jeffrey (Danielle) Owler, Stacy (Kim Mercurio) Burns, and Christie (Brian Weiss) Bleier; great-grandchildren, Amber, Lilly, Lindsay, Sargent, Daniel, Daryl, Katlyn, Connor, Eric, Alex, Drake and Madelyn; two brothers, Frank Morales and John Morales; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, September, 14, 2014 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois and from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois, with Dr. Jim Kerr officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
