Albertina Marie Dressel

Albertina “Abbie” M. Dressel (nee Glaus) 94, of Swansea, Illinois, entered her heavenly home on May 22, 2017. She was greeted by her husband Harold, son David, sister Katherine (Victor) Reinhardt, parents Louis N. and Johanna M. (nee Strack) Glaus, and other family members and friends that preceded her. She was born on November 21, 1922 in O’Fallon, Illinois.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Judy (Larry) Cunningham, granddaughters: Kelly (Patrick) Pfeifer, Kristen (Todd) Probst, Jennifer (Brian) Maeng, Joanne Cunningham, and Julia (B.J.) Crowder, and her great-grandchildren: Lauren, Olivia, Abbie, Catherine, William, and Baby Crowder due November 2017.

She was a proud graduate of O’Fallon High School Class of 1941 and a member of O’Fallon United Church of Christ. She was a bookkeeper at Mutual of Omaha and an active member of her local Gold’s Gym. She will be remembered as loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a talented cook, seamstress, and artist.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 1pm at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights. Family and friends will gather at Lakeview Funeral Home 30 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or O’Fallon United Church of Christ.
