

Arthur (aka Jay) John Dietrich, Jr., age 80, of Shiloh, Illinois passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, on Friday, February 14, 2025. Arthur was born in St. Louis to Arthur J. and Mary Claire Dietrich.
He worked for IBM, and Xerox as a Field Service Engineer repairing copiers and high speed printers, then Siemens, which merged and changed names numerous times during his 19 year employment, as a field Service Engineer, Manager of Technical Training. Then finally Manager of Quality Control. While employed at Siemens, he returned to school to complete his bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and then continued to earned his MBA. Early in his career he also taught electronics at BIT Technical School. After retiring from Siemens he did some Quality Control contract work for the post office of their newly manufactured cancelling machines.
He enjoyed travel, especially car trips. He was able to visit many states including Alaska and also Mexico and Canada by car. He took a number of cruises and trips to Europe and while in the Air National Guard, a tour of duty in Japan.
Arthur was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Claire nee O’Brien Dietrich and father Arthur John Dietrick
He is survived by his wife, Gloria nee LaBlance Dietrich; siblings, Michael (Donna) Dietrich of St Louis, MO, Jeri Lea (Kevin) O’Connor of Orange County, CA, Curt (Donna) Dietrick of Aurora, CO, and Julie (Bryan) Woody of Leesburg, VA; 7 niece and nephews; 5 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A visitation for Arthur will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
