He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Henry Koenig and Diana (West) Koenig.
Artie will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joshua (Angelica) Koenig and Jennifer Koenig; his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Maxwell, Joshua, and Logan; his siblings, Mary Koenig-Boden, Janey Hurst, and Donald Belcher; as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.
Artie was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time fishing, listening to his favorite 1980s headbanging rock music, and sharing laughter with those around him through his playful sense of humor and love of harmless pranks. He had a special place in his heart for animals and deeply missed his beloved pup, Babe. Artie dedicated much of his career as an operator with Ameren Electric and was a proud Union member, taking great pride in his work and the friendships he made along the way.
Visitation will be held at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL 62208, US, on July 27, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL, on July 27, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Lake View Memorial Gardens, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL, on July 27, 2026.
