Barbara Jean Fulkerson

Barbara Jean Fulkerson, nee Jones, 89, of Troy, IL passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born April 13, 1934 in Fairmont City, IL to Arthur and Ethel (nee Nelson) Jones. She married the love of her life, Robert L. Fulkerson Sr. on June 21, 1950.

Barbara retired from Union Planters Bank, formerly Edgemont Bank. In 1999 after 31 years. She also worked at 1st National Bank of St. Louis and National Stockyards Bank. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and having lunch with the Edgemont retirement group.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert L. Fulkerson Jr.; brothers, Josh Robert, Arthur Jr., Earl, Charles and Jack Jones; sisters, Pearl Coleman, Dorothy Peterson and Violet Jones in infancy; mother and father-in-law, Samuel and Doris Fulkerson; brother-in-laws; sister-in-law; nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert L. Fulkerson Sr.; son, James (Rosemary) Fulkerson; daughter-in-law, Donna Fulkerson; grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Gruener, Cheri (Andy) Prusa, Jaime (Jon) Kreyling, Robert (Heather) Fulkerson III and Kristyn (Michael) Cantu; 11 great-grandchildren, Addison and Owen Gruener, Kennedy and Hadley Kreyling, Jayda, Baylee, Layla and Brayden Fulkerson and Peyton, Paige and Lacey Cantu.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 11:00am with a second visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
