

Barbara Jean Anderson-Longstreet was born January 10, 1939 in St. Louis, MO to Robert Anderson and Norene Holton. Barbara Jean was preceded in death by: her father Robert Anderson; husband Titus Longstreet, and sister Patricia Anderson,
Barbara Jean received her formal education in the East St. Louis Public School system, attending Attucks Elementary School, Hughes-Quinn Junior High School, and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School.
Barbara Jean accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church in the Pollock Town section of East St. Louis under the pasturage of Rev. W.P. Alexander. She united in Holy Matrimony with her childhood sweetheart Mr. Titus Longstreet on March 4, 1960. To this union were born three children.
One of her favorite pastimes was going to the St. Clair Cinema 10 Movie Theater. This daily ritual that spanned over thirty years, made her well known at the theater. The staff affectionately called her “granny”.
On Sunday, February 5, 2017, she departed this life in Shiloh, Illinois.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Norene Lawson of Detroit MI, three children; Robin Blanton of Belleville, IL, Tyrus Longstreet of O’Fallon, IL, Crystal Banks of Shiloh, IL. sister Joyce (Dennis) Rome of Detroit MI; sister Pamela (John) Reeves, brother Leroy (Jamillah) Lawson of Chicago, IL, first cousin Marcia (James) Allen-Smith of Denver, CO. five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and neighbors who all loved her dearly.
