

Barbara Lucille Stacks Robinson, age 90, was born on October 12, 1935, in Carbondale, Illinois, and passed away on February 1, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nettie Crane Stacks; her siblings, Martha Stacks Angus, Henry “Jack” Stacks, Gertrude Stacks Hein, and William Stacks; her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Jackie Robinson; and her cherished great-grandson, Declan Nelson.
Barbara married the love of her life, Jackie Robinson, on March 21, 1953, in Carbondale, Illinois. Together they built a life grounded in family, faith, and hard work.
Barbara was employed over the years at Union Planters Bank, Wood Bakery, and Beyersdorfers Bakery. An avid and talented quilter, she found great joy in creating quilts that became treasured keepsakes for her family. Barbara was also deeply involved in her church, First Baptist Church of Fairview Heights, where her faith and service were central to her life.
While she took pride in her work and creative talents, Barbara’s greatest and most meaningful role was that of mother and grandmother—a role she embraced wholeheartedly and carried with grace and devotion.
She is survived by her children: Betty (Robert) Nelson, Karen (Paul) Blum, and Jackie (Kelley) Robinson. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Daniel (Christine) Nelson, Benjamin (Stephanie) Nelson, Cassie (Zach Nolte) Blum, Joshua Blum, Ashley Call, and Justin Robinson.
Barbara was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Sydney Nelson, Elijah Nelson, Malachi Nelson, Josiah Nelson, Carter Daniels, and Dalton Call.
Barbara will be remembered for her quiet strength, deep faith, creative spirit, and unwavering love for her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and service.
