Barbara Ann Wesley (nee Jones), 84, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Freeburg, Illinois.

Barbara was born on September 21, 1941, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Glynn Emerson Jones and Nettie May (nee McCrory) Jones.

When her children were young, she was a ‘stay at home mom’, until assuming the position of Secretary/Administrative Assistant for a concrete company.

Barbara married the love of her life, Richard, on May 17, 1980.

Barbara was an avid reader and a huge football fan, especially OU (University of Oklahoma) football and NFL. She was a collector of antiques and dolls; and loved to travel.

Barbara was of the Lutheran faith, and most recently affiliated with the Cowboy Church in Yellville, Arkansas.

She had a heart of gold and was always willing to help someone in need; a trait that was instilled in her children.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edwin Wesley; parents, Glynn and Nettie (McCrory) Jones; brother, Donald Glynn Jones; and stepson, Mark Wesley.

Barbara is survived by her son, Brian C. Baird (of Turner, Maine); daughter, Blynda (Steve) Lawrence (of Shiloh, Illinois); granddaughter, Danielle (Joseph) O’Riordan (of Andover, Maine); grandson, Evan (fiancé’ Taylor) Lawrence; and granddaughter, Ellie Lawrence; great-grandchildren: Kaedn, Knox, Islei, Iara, Kole, and Kier; daughter-in-law, Lisa Wesley (of Fort Wayne, Indiana); and sister-in-law, Juanita Jones (of Yukon, Oklahoma).

Celebration of Life for Barbara will be held at a later date.
