Betty Jean Allen, 83, of Caseyville, IL, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born in East St. Louis, IL, on August 5th, 1942, to Newt and Mildred Colston.

During her life, she was a highly regarded employee of Walmart in Collinsville, IL, with a dedicated 35 years of service.

She enjoyed her garden, planting flowers, cutting her grass, watching the hummingbirds, and playing her favorite game “Words with Friends”. Her most treasured time was spent with her family and friends, which she loved dearly.

She was known for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others. She was loved beyond measure, will be missed immensely, and carried with us in our hearts forever.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Newt and Mildred Colston; husband, Marvin Allen; brothers, Tommy Colston and Ronnie Colston; and sisters, Sandy (Jimmy) Kelley and Tina Colston.

She is survived by her children: Rhonda Lawanas, Marvin (Gina) Allen, Michael (Shelley) Allen, and Kimberly (Mark) Wolf; grandchildren: Marvin (Jenny) Allen, Ashley (Shane) Martinez, Holly Allen, Tyffani Garrett, Megan (Mike) Crowe, Brittany (Jeremy) Allen, Laura (Brendan) Biekert, David Biekert, Koda Allen, Michelle Carmona, and Jennifer Brennan; great-grandchildren: Lexi, Emma, Jacob, Kamdyn, Khloe, Abby, Makayla, Joseph, Kyler, Jayse, Theodore, Kiliyan, Elijah, Kaysen, Lennon, Kashtyn, Tatum, Kali, Amelia, Brynnlee, Ebbie, Dawsen, and Colton; siblings: Charlie Colston, Judy Gamache, and Bud (Bonnie) Colston; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
