Proceeding her in passing are both parents, her husband William, two brothers, and two children, Larry and Linda.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Barbara, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a brother and two sisters.
Throughout her life, Betty was a beloved and cherished presence to those who knew her—steady in spirit, thoughtful in word, and guided by a faithful heart. Her compassion showed itself in quiet, consistent ways, marked by patience, honesty, and a selfless devotion to the people and places she cared for.
Betty was hard-working and dependable in her daily life, serving in housekeeping and activities at the nursing home. In that work, she brought not only diligence and generosity, but also a calm wisdom and an encouraging steadiness that could lift a day and ease a burden.
She found joy in simple, sustaining pleasures: reading, working in the yard, and being outdoors. She also treasured time away, traveling to the mountains in North Carolina and to the beach in Florida—moments that reflected her appreciation for beauty, rest, and the renewing comfort of nature.
A devoted member of her church community, Betty remained involved and especially looked forward to her monthly shift in the nursery. It was a role that suited her gentle strength—offered with care, reliability, and the kind of love that asks for nothing in return.
Betty Tate will be remembered with gratitude and respect, for a life shaped by faithful service, generous hands, and a compassionate, inspiring presence that will be deeply missed.
