

Mrs. Westerfield was an oncology nurse with Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. She loved sports and Cardinals baseball. She was an avid softball player and was a member of the 1977 Cahokia State champions. She received a scholarship to play at St. Louis University. She was also very involved with the Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure, every year. She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister; who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy W. Thompson.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Julia Westerfield and Caleigh Westerfield.; her loving mother, Julia Thompson, nee Neeley; her two brothers, Rodney (Carol Sue) Thompson and Norm (Becky) Thompson; a sister, Connie (Don) Wilkerson; former husband and father of her children, Darren Westerfield; and a longtime friend, Cindy Schickedanz; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, at the funeral home, with Rev. Julie Berger officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
