Carl Moore Sr., age 95, passed away on June 24, 2026. Born February 28, 1931, to his father Lee Moore, and mother Bessie (Williams) Moore. Carl was a devoted family man whose steady presence, gentle strength, and faithful heart shaped the lives of those who knew and loved him. A resident of Belleville, Illinois, he will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude.
Carl lived with the kind of honesty that needed no embellishment—he was a man of his word, steadfast and loyal, and he carried himself with quiet wisdom and patient grace. Hard-working and resilient, he retired from General Motors and continued working until he was 82, a testament to his determination, selflessness, and the pride he took in doing things the right way.
To family and friends alike, Carl was a true people person—kind-hearted, thoughtful, and compassionate, with a warmth that could brighten even the darkest room. His humor was never far away, often arriving in the familiar phrases so many came to cherish: “Don’t ya know,” “Buddy Row,” and “What’s not to like?” In those simple words lived the spirit of a beloved man who made others feel seen, welcomed, and at ease.
Carl found joy in the fellowship of community and the simple pleasures of life well lived. He enjoyed Country Western dancing and attending Blue Grass festivals, where his generous nature and easy companionship fit naturally among friends. He was also involved with the American Legion, reflecting a life marked by loyalty, service, and a steady commitment to others.
Carl was proceeded in death by his wife, Louise (Parrish) Moore, son, Clifton Lee Moore, daughter, Patricia Diane Tiemann, and Son in law Eric Tiemann.
He leaves to treasure his memory, a daughter, Alma Marshall (Gary Marshall), sons, Carl Moore Jr. (Deborah Moore), Donald Moore (Chris Krug), and Helen Moore.
Above all Carl loved his family with devoted constancy. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren—each one part of a legacy built on love, courage, and a life lived with gentle strength. He was cherished not only for what he did, but for who he was: brave in hardship, generous in spirit, and inspirational in the way he consistently showed up for the people he loved.
From his loving family: this is not goodbye but see you next time.
