Carlton W. “Babe” Estes, 92, of Maryville, IL, born October 11, 1924 in Williford, Ark, passed away September 15, 2017 in Maryville.

Babe retired from National Stockyards as a livestock handler. Following his retirement, he worked at Scuba Duck carwash in Collinsville. He was also a former member of the Collinsville Nazarene church. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mr. Estes was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Eunice S., nee Arnold, Estes; his parents, James C. and Emma, nee Felkus, Estes; a grandchild, Randa Kennedy; ten brothers, Henry Estes, Lester Estes, Leotus Estes, J.T. Estes, Earl Estes, James Rowe Estes, Charles Estes, Owen Estes, Everett Estes, and Howard Estes; and a sister, Dessie Lillard.

He is survived by two sons, Lawrence D. Strauss and David (Gwen) Estes; two daughters, Carla (Stephen) Davidson and Darla (Donald) Hornback; five grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
