Charles Thomas Kadlec Jr.

Charles “Chuck” Thomas Kadlec Jr., 68, of Swansea, Illinois passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. He was born May 27, 1955 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Charles and Rita (Wilderman) Kadlec. He married the love of his life, Donna Brandenburger, September 8, 1979 in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Chuck was a dedicated employee who took pride in his work as a package delivery driver for over 35 years. He had a passion for St. Louis sports. Whether he was cheering on the Cardinals, Blues, Battlehawks and CITY SC, he was always a loyal fan. Above all, Chuck cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put the needs of others before his own. Chuck enjoyed going to his Sunday night meetings with his longtime friends. He was a pillar of strength and support for his loved ones, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Chuck fought cancer and health issues since January 2021 with unwavering strength and courage until his last breath. He was a fighter until the very end, never giving up despite challenges and setbacks. He was a true warrior, battling with grace and dignity.

Surviving to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Donna Kadlec of Swansea, Illinois; dear children, Lisa (Rick) Winn of Belleville, Illinois, Michael (Christina) Kadlec of Fort Knox, Kentucky and Ryan (Lauren) Kadlec of Belleville, Illinois; precious grandchildren, Lucy, Isabella and Owen Kadlec, Jonathan Charles “JC” Winn and Olivia Kadlec. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A visitation for Chuck will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00am in Lake View Funeral Home with a visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Inurnment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society.
