Clyde P. Wilkinson

Clyde was born April 12, 1946 in East St. Louis, IL to Donald and Mary Ellen (Douglas) Wilkinson. He married Geraldine “Geri” Hutchings on March 19, 1966 in Edgemont, IL. Together, they shared nearly 55 years of marriage. Geri survives and resides in Caseyville, IL.

Also surviving is his brother, Dennis (Sandy) Wilkinson of Highland, IL; sister, Sondra Rodenhofer of Ft. Meyers, FL; sister-in-law, Diana (Dale) Daab of Smithton, IL; niece, Michelle (Ronald) Schneider; and 3 nephews, Buddy (Angela) Jeremias, Eric (Alicia) Wilkinson, and Matthew Jeremias.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Melvadene Thompson and brother-in-law, Denny Rodenhofer.

After graduating high school, Clyde was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country. For many years, he continued his career as a carman for CSX Railroad, before his retirement in 2007. Together, Clyde and Gerri loved camping, going on float trips and spending time with their dear friends. Clyde and his wonderful smile will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial donations may be made to VITAS Hospice, as a thank you from the family they showed to Clyde in the last few weeks. Additional condolences may be sent to the family through this site.

A private family visitation and service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
