OBITUARY

Cory Lee Hillyard

February 13, 1972May 26, 2019

Cory Lee Hillyard, 47, of St. Jacob, IL passed away peacefully Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home.

Cory was a professional truck driver with Ray LaFore Truck Service and a proud member of the Teamsters Local 50. In his spare time he was an avid pool player. He played with the American Pool Players Association (APA). Cory loved watching sports, especially football. He was such a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan he named his only son Dallas. He was also a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed playing golf.

Cory will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, faithful son and loyal brother. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends.

Cory is preceded in death by his father Gerald F. Hillyard. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jessica (Jessi) nee Keith/Perkins Hillyard; son, Dallas Hillyard; mother, Sharon Hillyard; brother, Cody (Tonya Bauer) Hillyard; step-father, Roger Flint; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

A memorial service to celebrate Cory’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Caseyville Village Park Shelter #2.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Dallas Hillyard Benefit Fund at The BANK of Edwardsville, P.O. Box 447, Edwardsville, IL 62025.

Sorry we couldn’t be there today to celebrate Cory’s life with you Sharon, we left Friday for Sullivan , Mo. for Buz family reunion . Just wanted to say from what I have read he was a special person , and he will be missed by all who knew him . God only takes those that are great people and his friends say that he was the sweetest person wish I had a chance to meet him . May you find piece and comfort from your friends . Please give your family our sympathy, we are thinking of you and your family .

There is nothing I can say to make any of you feel better but Cory (cool-aid) was the kindest and sweetest person I've ever met he was awesome to work with when we did some seal coating and I surely will never forget when I saved your life that one summer I can still hear you saying "thank you for saving my life" I wished I could of been there this time!! You will never be forgotten and baby Dallas and Jess are in my prayers and of course your mom and family miss ya til I see you on the other side!!

Cory ~we had a lot of good times growing up togther. My sister and I had so much fun hanging out with you and your brother at Zippy's in the summer. These memories are priceless and I will never forget them. Our family is heart broken and you will be missed dearly. Forever in our memories.
