He was born March 20, 1932 in Tennessee to Taylor Noble and Annie (Matlock) Box. He married Ruby Whittington on November 2, 1951 in Piggott, AR. She survives and resides in Highland.
Also surviving are his children, Rick (Linda) Box of Highland, Terry (Lori) Box of Highland, Gary (Patti) Box of Collinsville, and Gwen (Allen) Keller of Highland; ten grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor Noble and Annie (Matlock) Box; siblings, Billy Box, Ernie Box, Bonnie Lalk and Bernice Huffman.

Dalton worked as a trucker with East St. Louis Local Teamsters for 35 years. In his younger years, Dalton enjoyed hunting alongside his sons. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Above all else, Dalton cherished the time he was able to spend with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
VISITATION: A visitation for Dalton will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 9:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
SERVICE: A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL..
