I am sure your mother is very sad over the loss of a 2nd child and Robby has joined you in heaven, it has been 3 years and a few months since you went away and miss you more today than I did then. I hope your mom gets the support she needs at this terrible time and hope they were with him in the end.

hard to believe 3 yrs ago we just returned from Tunica after a fun weekend and you finally won at a casino. little did we know in less than 8 hours you would be off to heaven, I think of you every minute every day and still visit you as often as I can. look forward to being with you again.

Well almost Easter 2013, remember how you always had to put together the perfect baskets for the twins and Austin and how you enjoyed hiding the easter eggs for the egg hunt she held every year for them. They still ask about you and I am sure on Easter they will be thinking about those egg hunts.

Merry Christmas 2012 while it has been a little over a year since you left us it seems like only yesterday, I think of you all day and night and wish I had just 5 minutes more with you to tell you how much I love you and miss you. Happy 58th birthday while you are not here to enjoy it with us you will be in our hearts and minds. I am thinking back on the fun we had on your birthday, the birthday dinners at your Moms and the crazy song I would sing you every year that always got on your last nerve but know how much you enjoyed it down deep. I miss you and love you and wish you were here to celebrate with.

Well one year again today on July 4th we were at Dave's house in Kansas getting ready to plan with fireworks. I am not sure until that night how much you looked fireworks and the joy in your face as the various aerial bombs exploded. I will be remembering that night tonight as we set off fireworks with Heather and Mike but it will never be the same as having you here with me.

As far as the health problems they are getting better and hope to go back to work next week. After talking to several doctors and friends I have decided not to go for the chemo the added odds of chemo is just not enough to suffer chemo.

one year ago today at this time we were off to Las Vegas to get married after all the years. I will never be able to tell you or anyone how happy it made me that we were finally to be wed in just a few days. Hard to believe one year later we would be apart but someday we will be together again.

Found it interesting this morning when I noticed that I made all the Las Vegas and wedding reservations on 2/14/11 valentines day. Not sure if I planned that but found it interesting. Will not be long now and we would have been married one year. I plan a celebration that at the graveside on 4/3/2012 to celebrate the one year. I miss you with all my heart, my love.

I remember getting to know Aunt Debbi when I was a little girl. I thought she was so cool. Like little Larry, I spent many late nights with her in papa's office talking about everything. She was the grownup I went to with questions and topics I was too afraid to go to anyone else with.  She was so accepting and calm. Yet, she listened to me and spoke to me like a young adult--not like a little kid. I needed this so much in my early teens. And I trusted her advice and opinions. She lent her perspective on issues as silly as boys and as important as family relationships. She was there for me in some of the most trying times of my adolescence with sound advice, great patience and even a sense of humor when I needed it most. She had a huge impact on my life. She kept me grounded. The things I learned from her, I carry with me to this day.
It hurts to think that she's not in our lives any more. I feel so deeply for my grama and my dad, aunt sherry and uncles Scott and Robby. I can only imagine how great that loss is for you. I didn't know her well or for very long, and I miss her. Her little brothers and sister knew her their whole lives. And Grama, I can't think of anything harder in this world for a  person to go through. 

Ron, she was so lucky to have found you. I am sorry that you guys didn't have more time together. At least she had the happiness of being married to you, of knowing that great love in her life. 

Aunt Debbi, you touched all of our lives. We are fortunate to have known you. We will each carry you with us throughout the rest of our lives. In that way, your spirit will remain forever present. I'll miss you. I love you.

   Ron my heart goes out to you. I think my sister was lucky to have found you. Since we were kids I have never seen her as content and happy with her life, as she was when she was with you. I believe she found that once in a lifetime with you.

To Ron, Grama, and the rest of the family and friends, whom were fortunate enough to have been touched by such a warm and gentle soul as my Aunt Debbi, I send my deepest sympathy for our recent loss. It becomes more apparent every year to me, that death is an existential concept that is not meant to be understood, and requires a great deal of strength when attempting to cope with the accompanying pain. It is for that reason, that I am thankful to have such a strong and supportive group of relatives and friends that can be counted on to be there for one another in this time of grieving.  

During a recent discussion with my sister, about our individual circumstances that prevented us from attending the funeral services for Aunt Debbi, we found ourselves in the midst of our own memorial for her. And instead of sadness and tears, we were both inadvertently gabbing joyfully about all of the fond memories we shared with one another, and our Aunt Debbi. My fondest memory was sitting in Grampa’s office with Aunt Debbi, well past my bedtime, with nothing but a computer monitor lighting the room, watching Aunt Debbi drink Coca-Cola and play Mah-Jongg for hours. I remain hooked on that game today. I remember voicing my wildest dreams of one day having my own computer, and all the things I could do once I had one. Years later, it was Ron and Aunt Debbi that gave me that first computer. I can never explain the impact that such generosity and selflessness has had on me, or the world that was opened up for me with such a machine, which was otherwise unattainable. It is that memory of Aunt Debbi and Ron that will remain with me forever. 

Aunt Debbi, and Ron alike, you will forever remain in my thoughts and most importantly, my heart.

My prescious Debbi-----You were my first born, and every time I would look at you, I was in awe---you were such a beutiful little girl. Dad and I were so proud of this baby we made together, and who grew up so sweet and cute. I don't know how I'm going to keep going without you. You always were there to light up my life. Debbi, I miss you so much, but I know you are more comfortable now, and free of the pain that wouldn't let you rest. Please help your dad to watch over your family now, til we meet again real soon. My deepest sympathy to every member of Debbi’s family.  She was one of my best high school friends.

Debbi didn’t just rescue cats - she rescued a dorky high school freshman girl with a funny New Jersey accent who moved to O’Fallon a week before classes started.  None of the other local kids would so much as talk to me – but Debbi saw that I was alone, and invited me to be her friend.  She remained my friend until our family moved yet again in our senior year at O’Fallon High School.  

Debbi and I (or D&D, as we called ourselves) high-lighted our hair to a horrible brassy blonde color together while hanging out at the O’Fallon pool (where she caused quite a stir by wearing an itsy-bitsy bikini), and spent hours together after class each day discussing music and  boys and the meaning of life and what we were going to do after we graduated.

She was a genuinely loving and kind human being who opened her heart and home to me, and I will be forever grateful for that.  I miss you, Debbi.
