Dennis "Denny" Joseph Counsell

Denny was born June 14, 1957 in Belleville, IL to Nathan and Mildred (Kramer) Counsell. He married Deloris Burleson on May 20, 1977 in Belleville, IL, together they shared 44 years of marriage. Deloris survives him and resides in Belleville, IL.

Also surviving are their six children, Josh (Jen) Counsell of New Baden, IL, Jeremy (Sarah) Counsell of St. Ann, MO, Jesse (Emmi) Counsell of St. Louis, MO, Jayce (Lindsay) Counsell of Belleville, IL, Alayna (Dustin Hotle) Counsell of Belleville, IL and Adrian Counsell of Belleville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Lorelei, Isaiah, Logan, Lexi, Raeghan, Payton, Joseph, Elizabeth, Quinn, Kenna and Gabriel; special mother-in-law, Norma Burleson of Belleville, IL; sister-in-law, Patty Counsell of Belleville, IL; and brother-in-law, Kenny Oliver of Belleville, IL. Although his loss leaves a painful void, his legacy will live on in the lives of his beloved children and grandchildren, as well as his beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Mildred Counsell; and siblings, Jim Counsell, Marjorie “Sis” Oliver, Tom Counsell and Bobby Counsell.

Denny was a kind man who always had a joke to tell. He truly never met a stranger and was able to make friends wherever he was. He loved to BBQ and enjoyed his time on the water, fishing. Above all else, Denny loved his family and friends dearly. He cherished the moments he had with them.

VISITATION- A visitation for Denny will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

SERVICE: A funeral service will be held Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
