

Dennis honorably served his country in the United States Navy onboard the USS Ajax, during the Vietnam Conflict. Dennis was “one of six” children and he and his siblings knew how special it was to be a part of the Grotsky family. He was a member of the VFW and the Fish Club. He enjoyed raising both tropical and salt water species of fish. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 268. He enjoyed woodworking, building, fishing, dancing and playing computer games. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother; whose memory will be cherished by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grotsky, nee Corbier; his first wife and mother of his children, Kathy L. Grotsky, nee Buehler; and his parents, Dave “Jack” and Edna Lee, nee Staten, Grotsky.
Surviving are his children, Denise (Scott) Futter, of Ontario, Canada, Dennis E. (Kim) Grotsky, Jr., Angela Rice, both of O’Fallon, Illinois; his step children, Monty Sutton and Mike Sutton; his grandchildren, Travis (Kara) Grotsky, Bert Massena, Skyler Grotsky, Michael Grotsky, Jaxson Grotsky, Brandon Schardan, Brittney Rice, Matthew Rice, Zach, Taylor, Mikey, and Kayla; two great grandchildren, Skilar and Rachel; five sisters, Sherry Whaley, Debra (Vernell) Sollis, Dianna (Hilario) Sanchez, Robin (Rick) Stokes, and Tammy (Cliff) Cooper; and his special friend, Debbie Fort; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will be held privately.
