Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1975 to 1978. Dennis was a truck driver with Holtgrave Distribution in O’Fallon, Illinois and prior to that, he was employed by Reed Rubber in St. Louis, Missouri. In his younger years, Dennis was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing softball on the “Bulldogs” team. The team consisted of a group of friends who simply enjoyed being together. As they all grew older they turned to fantasy football. He loved playing fantasy football with his son, D.J. He was also an avid Cardinals fan and loved watching them on TV or listening to them on the radio, while grilling. One of his last requests was to have everyone dress in their Cardinals apparel when coming to pay their final respects. He was a loving family man, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold R. Hendricks; his paternal grandparents, William R. and Stella C. Hendricks; his maternal grandparents, Walter C. and Mildred M. Rumpf; and three sisters, Jean Marie, Victoria Lynn, and Kimberly Kay Hendricks.
Surviving are his mother, Patricia A. “Pat” Hendricks; his children, Walter W. “Buster” Hendricks, Dennis J. “D.J.” Hendricks, Jr., and Danielle M. Hendricks; his fiancé, Toni Vasques and her children, Emily and Frankie Vasques; his grandchildren, Cameron, Avery, and Brantly Hendricks; a sister, Elaine R. Hendricks; and many other extended family and friends.
