Dennis William McGuire

Dennis William McGuire of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of 75. He was the beloved husband of Dawn McGuire and the cherished son of the late William McGuire and Maxine (Stanley) Brown. Dennis was a devoted father to Chris (Tonja) McGuire, Jennifer (John) McGuire, and Cassaundra (Jimmie) McGuire, as well as a loving stepfather to Thomas, Sean, Michael, and Kathryn O’Malley. He was adored by his grandchildren: Dallas, Kaiden, Jayden, Jonathan, Aiden, Vanessa, Micah, Grace, Louie, Isaac, Elijah, Finn, and Norah.

Dennis is also survived by his dear siblings: Linda (Mike) Leonard, Bob (Karen) McGuire, Teresa (Chuck) Achor, and Michael (Cozette) McGuire, along with many nieces and nephews.

Proudly serving in the Army for four years, Dennis later dedicated his career to serving his community as a police officer in the Metro East area. He then worked as a security officer for Boeing for many years before retiring.

Dennis and Dawn shared twenty-one wonderful years, raising children and creating beautiful memories. He loved singing in the choir and was a member of the Messengers Group at Meadow Heights Baptist Church. Dennis enjoyed discovering new restaurants and watching Western movies. He cherished his time spent with family and friends. Dennis was deeply loved and would be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Dennis will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, IL. A second visitation will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 9:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 9:30 AM at Meadow Heights Baptist Church, located at 1498 Vandalia St, Collinsville, IL, followed by a committal service with full military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO.
