Dolly Hadfield

Velda "Dolly" Hadfield, nee Donati, 93, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Aug. 10, 1922, in Caseyville, Ill., lost her battle with cancer on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at her home with her children by her side.

Dolly was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, dominos and bunco. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother and will be forever in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Hadfield; her son, Gary P. Hadfield; her parents, Joseph and Elsie, nee Schanuel, Donati; a brother, Larry J. Donati; and a step great-granddaughter, Blair Shannon Lane.

Surviving are her children, Rodney (Bethany) Hadfield of Tyler, Texas, Keith Hadfield of O'Fallon, Ill., Paula Louis of O'Fallon, Ill., and Hugh (Pamela) Hadfield of Fairview Heights, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Brant Hadfield of Kirkwood, Mo., Anthony Hadfield of Rockwall, Texas, Jason (Jennifer) Hadfield of Dallas, Texas, Dustin Hadfield of Charlotte, S.C., Scott (Rebecca) Dunn of O'Fallon, Ill., Nicki (Jason) Wray Lane of Peoria, Ill., Angela (Martin) Fingerhut of Troy, Ill., Katie Louis of Norman, Okla., Kyle Louis of O'Fallon, Ill., Jessica (Joseph) Evansco of Maryville, Ill., and Ryan Hadfield of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a step-grandson, Bradley Staples of Dallas, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Jacey Hadfield, Jaden and Declan Dunn, Caden and Jalynn Lane, Henry and Harold Fingerhut, Lyla Hadfield, and Sophia Evansco; two step great-grandchildren, Kayla and Samantha; many dear brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

A special appreciation to her great friends at PSOP in Belleville and the Shiloh Senior Center for their endearing friendship.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
