He was retired from AO Smith, and later worked as a truck driver for Lanter Courier. He enjoyed camping and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Naoma, nee Watkins, Barrett; and two sisters, Wilma Whitworth, and Janice Hendrix.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Helen, nee Weber, Barrett; their children, Bryan Barrett and Shaye Barrett; two sons, Michael (Peggy) Barrett and Jerry (Pattie) Barrett; a daughter, Karen (Chris) Burns; a step-daughter, Cindy (Brian) Sweet; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Lee (Chris) Barrett and Bud (Katie) Barrett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
