Doris Jeanne Green (nee Sundbeck), of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born April 18, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, in Aviston, Illinois. Doris was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah, the Fairview Heights, Illinois and O’Fallon, Illinois Wards. In her early years, Doris worked in a candy factory, then at the Center Theatre in Salt Lake City, where she met her husband, Doyle Adelbert Green. After her family moved to Illinois, Doris worked as a seamstress for 20 years in O’Fallon, Illinois until she retired to care for her grandson. Doris played the piano and loved flowers. She enjoyed planting flower gardens every year.
Doris was the beloved daughter of Charles Russell and Merle Alice (nee Heiner) Sundbeck; beloved sister of Charles Russell Sundbeck, Jr. (Sue); loving mother to her three daughters: Jo Ann Lewallen (Charles), Ledbetter (Jerry); Debra Diane (Stephen) Gump; and Carolyn (Matthew) Heiman; beloved grandmother of 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Adelbert Green; her parents, Charles Russell and Merle Alice (nee Heiner) Sundbeck; her daughter, Jo Ann Lewallen Ledbetter; a grandson, Bryan Lewallen; and a son-in-law, Matthew M. Heiman, Sr. Surviving are daughters Debra (Stephen) Gump, of Algonquin, Illinois; and Carolyn Heiman, of Fairview Heights, Illinois; her grandchildren, Wesley (Adela) Lewallen, Cory (Damion) Rylko, Laura (Jeremy) Hardt, Sandra (John) Wright, Andrew Gump, Matthew (Bridgitte) Heimann, Jr., Michael Heimann; great grandchildren, David, Logan, Madison, Brooklyn, Austin, Kaylee, Mason, Hannah, Charlotte, Isaac, Henry, Trevor, Devin, Cooper, and Beckett; a son-in-law, Jerry Ledbetter, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
