

In 1982, she and her husband cofounded Pro-Pack Testing Laboratory, Inc., in Belleville, a business her son continues to run today. She loved to garden, her pets, and to travel…especially to Las Vegas and New Orleans
.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Van Meter; her second husband, Manuel A. Rosa, Sr.; and her parents, William J. and Carrie S., nee Dennis, Campbell.
She is survived by 2 sons, William (Marlyn) Van Meter of Greenwich, NY and Manuel (Julia) Rosa, Jr. of Fairview Heights, IL; 3 daughters, Bobbie (Ronald) Sampson of Hillsboro, OH, Vickie (Michael) Higgins of Fairview Heights, IL, and Gina (Greg) Menne of St. Louis, MO; 7 grandchildren, Aaron Van Meter, Payton Lawson, Suzanne (Shaun Ross) Mecalo, Patrick (Michelle) Higgins, Kelly (Jeff Lehman, MD) Higgins, MD, Kerri (Steve) Moss, and Jason Allen; 7 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Joseph Barcum; her beloved pet, Sophie; and many other relatives and friends.
