Dustin Tyler Graves, 26, of O’Fallon, Illinois, born June 27, 1993 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, passed away tragically, Friday, January 24, 2020 from a motor vehicle accident.

At a young age, Dustin’s passion for music led him to find serenity in learning to play guitar. Sitting for countless hours with his father mastering the chords and riffs that turned into true talent. He began riding motocross from the time he could walk and was fearless on the track. He and his friends, known as the “Wolf Pack”, were an inseparable group of rambunctious boys, full of excitement and wonder. Dustin truly reached his pinnacle when he became a father to his own rambunctious boy. His son, Carson, was his world just as he was his parent’s world. Dustin was a loving father, son, brother, nephew and friend, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dayton Clark and Ellis “David” Hay.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his adoring son, Carson Graves; his loving parents, Shawn and Michelle, nee Clark, Graves; his sister, Shayla Smith; his maternal grandmother, Sue Clark; his paternal grandmother, Candi Johnson; his grandfathers, Michael Carmack and Michael Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

I know I'm on here one more time. I'm thinking of you and remembered a memory of you that made me smile. When you was young you use to eat them nasty lil sausages in s jar you always had a jar of them in your hand almost always and shove them in your mouth and smile and I'd tell you how nasty they was and you would look at me and tell me no. You keep playing with your toys never putting it down till it were empty. You was taken way to soon. Everyone who knew you had great memories of how silly and rambunctious you was.
I'm smiling right now thinking of some of your memories.
R.I.P Dustin.

You are and always will be dearly missed. You were taken too soon, too young. I'm sad that Carson will not grow up with the man his father is and would of became. But he will forever have the memories, maybe a smell locked in a memory, a song, clothing, pictures and videos, and the family that surrounds him. Its because of that, Carson will know who his dad was.
Dustins memory lives on in that beautiful little man, and the people that loved him, knew him and spent sometime with him. Dustin can never be forgotten. I didn't get to make it to the funeral. But you are not far from my thoughts nephew, I see Cardinals everywhere in my yard, every morning; when they show up I know the ones we have loved and have been taken for bigger plans we do not understand, will always be with us and will watch over us.
