

Edmunda M. “Mandy” Black, nee Kochmann, 93, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born August 22, 1918, in Dupo, Illinois, passed away, Friday, April 27, 2012, at Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Facility, with family by her bedside.
She was a longtime resident of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and formerly an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Belleville, Illinois, where she had been a Mariner for a number of years. She was also past president of Demolay mothers, a former Eastern Star, and a Pioneer, as a retiree from Southwestern bell Telephone, where she had worked as an operator and supervisor for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband H. Wayne Black; her mother Elizabeth Kochmann, nee Stoll; three sisters, Irene Phillips Leinauer, Dorothy Brengle, and Marcella McCarey; and a brother, Earl Kochmann.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Wayne E. (Carol) Black, of Sunset Hills, Missouri, a daughter, Renay J. (Dr. Rodger W.) Hardy, of Chesterfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dr. David J. Hardy, of Champaign, Illinois and Dr. Daniel M. (Jessica) Hardy, of Richmond, Virginia; three great grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren; and a brother, Carl (Marilyn) Kochmann, of California.
The family is grateful to Bethesda Dilworth and Bethesda Hospice Care, for the excellent care given to Mandy.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the funeral home, with Pastor Zomermaand officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
