

Mr. Simpson was a longtime member of the Signal Hill Lutheran Church, Belleville, Illinois. He was an avid Cardinals fan, and loved to fish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Augusta, nee Rodemund, Simpson; a daughter, Patricia Scholz; and three brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Simpson, nee Lee; his son, Elmer E. Simpson, Jr., of Villa Ridge, Missouri; his daughter Gail (Gary) Olson, of Chesterfield, Missouri; a son-in-law, Rev. Michael Scholz; his grandchildren, Amy Simpson, Jacob (Terah) Simpson, Stacey (Ryan) Cox, Scott (Elizabeth) Olson, and Jay (Amanda) Linton; his great grandchildren, Ansleigh Rose, Aidan, Wyatt, Abigail, Tyler, and Nolan; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Signal Hill Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Scholz officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
