

Mrs. Melvin was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Shiloh, IL. She was an active member with Mary and Martha and Jolly Seniors in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Women of the Moose and Red Hat Society in Swansea, IL. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and she loved to dance. Sally was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her kindness and gentleness along with her love of life was embraced by all those who surrounded her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Reinhardt and Elvira, nee Baum, Reinhardt of East St. Louis, IL. and her husband of 45 years John “Jack” Melvin of O’Fallon, IL.
Surviving are her children Kathleen (William) Karius of Waterloo, IL., Michael (Glenda) Melvin of O’Fallon, IL., Maureen (Kenneth) Schmitz of Cape Girardeau, MO., and John (Joan) Melvin of Overland Park, Kansas; Eleven grandchildren; Five great-grandchildren; Six step-grandchildren; Thirteen step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
