

Ethel Mae Pegg, nee Bridger, 88, of O’Fallon, Illinois passed away peacefully in her Lord’s arms on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born in Blytheville, Arkansas. Ethel retired after a long career at the Casino Queen. She enjoyed watching the Game Show Network, Cardinals baseball and ice skating. However, Ethel mostly adored the time spent with her large family, traveling, picking seashells out of the sand in Florida, collecting family photographs and postcards from all over the world. She loved and served her Savior, Jesus Christ and attended Edgemont Bible Church in Fairview Heights.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie T. and Almetta Bridger, and sisters Martha (Bill) Long, Earline (Jack) Jones and Phyllis Bridger.
She is survived by her three children, Michael (Joni) Pegg, Jr. of O’Fallon, Illinois, Ruth (Tim) Fitch of Ballwin, Missouri, and John (Sandi) Pegg of Millstadt, Illinois, as well as her seven loving grandchildren, Michael Andrew Pegg, Andrea (Tyler) Biethman, Sarah (Nathan) Clark, Ryan (Amanda) Fitch, Tori Pegg, Caleb Pegg, Courtney (Adam) Voelker and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Jean Law, Bill Bridger, Willie (Diane) Bridger, Charles (Diane) Bridger, Carolyn Shelton, Janet Bridger, Marilyn Austin and Cyndi (Matt) Alldredge.
Ethel will always be remembered for her love, warmth, great hugs and saying, “Ain’t that sad and kamasaki.” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Edgemont Bible Church.
A visitation for Ethel will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois 62208.
The funeral service will occur Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, 5000 North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, Illinois, immediately followed by the committal.
