Eugene David Hendricks, 95, of Belleville, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was born September 24, 1926 in Belleville to Frank and Anna (Hayek) Hendricks. Eugene married Virginia Heintz in 1948 in Belleville. He was a veteran of the 41st Infantry Division Jungleers of the United States Army and served in the Philippines. He worked for Mobil Oil Corporation for 35 years in the maintenance department. Eugene was a 25 year member of the Moose Lodge, as well as a member of the St. Clair County Anglers and The Mobil Oil Retiree Club. Eugene also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his son, Paul (DeDe) Hendricks of Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Julie (Paul) Bateman of Berrien Springs, MI and Lauren (Mark) Eilers, Highland, IL; great-grandchildren, Ivan Bateman of Berrien Springs, MI, Maebry, Leo and Mack Eilers of Highland, IL; sister, Betty J. Aeppli of Sandwich, IL; nephew, William “Bill” Aeppli of Sandwich, IL. Predeceased by his wife, Virginia Hendricks and daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Don Quick.
Private family services will be held. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
