Eugene Littlefield

Eugene Littlefield, 84, of Caseyville, Illinois, born on June 30, 1931 in East St. Louis, Illinois, died on January 22, 2016 at Caseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his loving family by his side.

Gene proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a longtime member of the Caseyville Memorial VFW Post 1117 in Caseyville, American Legion Post #113 in Granite City and the Caseyville Moose Lodge #4. He was a volunteer Caseyville firefighter for many years before working as a switchman for the railroad. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, horseshoes, riding his bicycle, and dancing, but his greatest moments were those spent with his family. He was a wonderful man whom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Littlefield is preceded in death by his parents, David Eugene and Lula Mae, Nee George, Littlefield; his daughter, Lois Jean Littlefield; five brothers, Melvin, Carlton, Herbert, Doyle and Paul Littlefield; and one sister, Betty Denbow.

Surviving is his loving wife of 37 years, Betty, nee Holt, Littlefield; three daughters, Donna Poindexter, Patricia (Chuck "Mitch" Swan) Parnell, and Mary Kay (Clancy "C.J.") Norberg; his grandchildren, Jason, Bryan, Justin (Ashley), Kaitlyn, Brent, Courtney, and Steven; two great-grandchildren, Blayni and Kannon; one brother, Kenneth Littlefield; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children or Wounded Warrior Project.
