Farrell Caesar, 77, passed away at his home in Trenton, Illinois, on Thursday, February 27, 2025. He was born in Portland, Oregon, on April 22, 1947, to Alice and Elmer Caesar, and lived a life full of passion, adventure, and devotion to his loved ones.
During his life, he played saxophone, clarinet and flute in the Air Force band. You couldn’t drive across Illinois without him saying “Oh I played there.” Farrell dedicated much of his professional life to Ball Foster Corporation, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for over two decades. After retiring and selling the family farm in Mascoutah, Illinois, he embraced his love for motorcycles, becoming an active member of the Gateway Riders BMW motorcycle club. He was also a member of the Euro Motor Club for many years. His life remained rich in adventure, with countless motorcycle trips, including exhilarating journeys across Mexico, and many hours spent tinkering with his bikes in his garage.
Beyond motorcycles, Farrell had a deep connection with the outdoors. He cherished riding horses with his children, taking long 4-wheeler rides, and indulging in his love for cars. Farrell was known for his infectious laugh, his love of a cold Michelob Light beer, his ability to show affection in his own special way, and a firm pat on the back or a shoulder rub that made those around him feel instantly loved and appreciated.
Most of all, Farrell will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband to his wife of 55 years, Mary Caesar, whose partnership with him was a cornerstone of his life. Together, they built a family that loved and admired him deeply.
Farrell is survived by his loving wife, Mary and her large family, the Melton’s; his son William, along with granddaughters Kitana (Josh), Piper, Dyanna (Vontez); great granddaughters Remona, Meehan and Calliope; his daughter Carolyn (John), and granddaughters Isabella, Gianna, and Maria. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Carleen (Don), niece Kim, great-nieces, Carlee and Casey and great-nephew TJ, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Farrell’s passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in the many moments he shared with his family and friends. As we celebrate his life, we’re reminded of his sparkling blue eyes, his chuckle, and his unwavering presence in the lives of those he cherished.
Rest in peace dear husband, Dad and friend Farrell Caesar.
