She was born in East St. Louis, IL to the late Melvin and Rita (nee Jessup) Stumpf on April 8, 1948.
Gail met the love of her life, Larry Fowler, during their high school years, and the two began dating in their early twenties. Their love story led them to marry on February 14, 1975, and this year, they joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone marked by love, laughter, and the family they built together.
A true social butterfly, Gail had a gift for connecting with others and brightening every room she entered. She adored her family and found great joy in being surrounded by those she loved. Over the years, she held various administrative roles at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, where she brought warmth, organization, and a compassionate presence to her work. Her legacy of love, faith, and friendship will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Fowler; her daughter, Courtney Brooke Kuklinksi (Chris); sister, Diane Heyde (Fred); brother-in-law, Wesley Stellhorn; and granddaughter, Cali Kuklinksi.
In addition to her parents, Gail is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Stellhorn; and mother and father-in-law: Howard and Cecil Fowler.
