

Gerald “Jerry” William Nowak, 64, of Smithton, IL peacefully passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 in his home. He was born December 16, 1959 in East St. Louis to Byron Edward and Judith Margaret (Webster) Nowak Sr. Jerry was dedicated to his career as a finance manager with many dealerships over the years. He was an avid golfer. His love for golf went hand-in-hand with his dedication to living a healthy and active lifestyle, as he enjoyed working out almost daily. Beyond golf and fitness, Jerry had a passion for cooking. He loved spending time in the kitchen cooking for his friends and family and made the best Chilean Sea Bass. Jerry also loved to dive into the challenge of a good puzzle with his partner, Patty. His legacy is not just one of dedication and passion, it is a testament to a life well lived. Jerry was a firm believer in the power of prayer and our Lord Jesus Christ. His dry wit and zest for life will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Alex Joseph Nowak and Erika Lynn Nowak; siblings, Kathleen Lynn (David) Sliment, Byron Edward (Dee Dee) Nowak Jr., Christopher Allen (Jackie) Nowak, Douglas John Nowak and Michelle Lynn Reichert; partner, Patty Cerulli; step-son, Billy Brinkman; step-grandson, Avery Brinkman; stepmother, Stephanie Nowak and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Presbyterian Church,1303 Royal Heights Rd, Belleville, IL 62223, and a service will follow the visitation, at 11:00 A.M. Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
