Gerald F. Wheeler

Jerry retired after 34 years as a teacher with Collinsville Unit 10. Upon retiring he still gave his time as a substitute and volunteer with the Christian Academy in Collinsville.

He never hesitated to give of himself to others. Through his volunteering and teaching, he impacted the lives of countless youths, in the Metro-east.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl A. and Aurelia, nee Hughes, Wheeler.

Surviving are his son, Paul Anders; a brother, Michael (Harriet) Wheeler; two sisters, Linda (Gus) Riethmann and Darla (Matt) Reynolds; his nephews, Joe and Jeremy Reynolds, Ross (Elizabeth) and Scot (Ako) Wheeler; a niece, Susan (Bob) Brandon; great nephews, Caleb, Ryan, and Brent; and his great nieces, Audrey, Avery, and Claire.
