Geraldine Ann Smith

She retired from a long career in retail, working at Macys (formerly Famous Barr) for many years as a makeup consultant. She was known for being a dedicated and dependable employee. Smiles and laughter surrounded those in Geraldine’s presence. She cherished the time she spent with friends and family and held those memories dear.

Geri was born August 20, 1935 in East Saint Louis, IL to John Earl and Pauline (Silvey) Kaufman. They preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Ellis Ziern and second husband, Jackie L. Smith.

Geri is survived by her daughter, Paula Marie (Jason Charles) Kennedy of Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Heather Nichole (Eric) Jost, Holly Rachel (Derreck) Engle, Megan Alexzandra Kennedy and Liam Lawrence Kennedy, all of Belleville, IL; great-grandchildren, Emma Marie, Aiden Paul, Noah Ellis, Kenslie Jean, Christopher Michael, and Amelia Ann Louise; beloved nephew, Troy Lee (Jung) Hower of Chicago, IL; great-niece and great-nephew, Abigail and Luke; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

VISITATION: A visitation for Geri will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 12:00 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

SERVICE: A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
