Glenda Fay Williams

Fay was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and special friend to all who knew and loved her. “Maw Maw” was the special name given to her by her loving grandchildren.

Fay married the love of her life, Arthur Eugene Williams, on March 1, 1947, to which this union brought two daughters, Diana and Doris. She worked as a Real Estate Broker for over 40 years. Among her favorite past times were traveling around the world to some of her favorite places like, Hawaii, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Australia. Fay also enjoyed playing card games and was pretty swift with any hand that she was dealt. She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and a long-time viewer of “her stories,” Days of Our Lives. Fay’s greatest attribute, though, was her loving spirit and her faith in Christ. She was a devoted member to her church, Central Christian Church of O’Fallon, Illinois. She served as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and instilled that faith into her daughters and grandchildren. She was truly a blessing and will be dearly missed.

Preceding her in death were her loving husband of 37 years, Arthur Eugene Williams; both parents, August and Rosa, nee Lierer, Poppe; her son-in-law Keith Russell; and two brothers, Vermon Poppe and Raymond Poppe.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving children, Diana (Michael) Cummins, of Orlando, Florida, and Doris Russell, of Yutan, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Shawn (Susan) Cummins, Dustin (Mary) Cummins, Brian (Andrea) Russell, Amy (Dan) Krajicek, and Tiffany Cummins; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Spencer, Meg, Heidi, Zach, Carter, Drew, Kylie, Blake, Brennan, Henry, and Aislin; and other dear family, friends and relatives.

Funeral Service: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Lake View Funeral Home, with a committal service following services at Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
