Gloria "Sue" R. Vale

Gloria was married to the “love of her life”, Maurice "Bud" E. Vale on March 1, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas. They shared 72 wonderful years together.

Gloria earned a Master's degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and retired from teaching after educating students for many years.

Prior to teaching, she worked at Liese Lumber Company in Belleville, IL and Kommunity Lumber Company in Millstadt, IL.

Gloria was a life member of the State of Illinois Retired Teachers. Gloria’s noteworthy achievements include Delta Theta Tau Sorority Alumnae Association, Turkey Hill Grange, Daughters of the Nile, and Freeburg Elementary Teachers Association.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Roland H. Hauck and Rose C. Hauck (nee Biebel) and brothers, Roland O. Hauck and James F. Hauck.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Maurice E. Vale; son, Thomas H. Vale; a special friend, Linda S. Vale; and nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Private services will be held under the direction of Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, IL.
