Hector Joseph Barron, Sr., 76 of Fairmont City, Illinois, born April 18, 1935 in East St. Louis, Illinois passed from this life on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Hector was the founder of Barron and Associates in Collinsville, Illinois and was a member of the Board of Directors of Fine Labs Inc. in Piedmont, Missouri. He was an active member of the Hispanic Community and received numerous awards for his contributions, the most recent being in April of this year the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis, having served that organization two years as president and two years as chairman. Hector’s dedication as an accountant and tax preparer was rewarded by the great respect that was afforded by the multiple generations of his clients. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and member of the American Legion Post 961, Fairmont City, Illinois. Mr. Barron enjoyed the outdoors, a good Cardinals game, but most of all he enjoyed a good cigar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antelmo and Ramona, nee Riviera, Barron, a son Hector J. Barron Jr., and his first wife Doris Hemken, nee Rogers.
Surviving are his children, Michael (Cindy) Barron, of Shiloh, Illinois, Mona (Andrew) Maupin of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Margaret Barron of Fairmont City, Illinois, Michelle (Ernest) Newton of Brea, Kentucky, and Krista (Richard) Daniels of Granite City, Illinois, ten grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin, Melissa (Andy), Conrad, Elizabeth, Barron, Amanda, Jacob, and Hector. two great grandchildren, Hunter and Landon, two brothers, Carlos (Shirley) Barron of Belleville, Illinois and Joseph (Mary Lou) Barron of Granite City, Illinois, three sisters, Marie Dolores Johnson of Fairmont City, Illinois, Elvira Barron of Belleville, Illinois, and Dianna Barron of Collinsville, his second wife, Dorothy Barron, nee Sikora, of Granite City, Illinois, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
