

Imogene Helen Hosp-Weinert, nee Goodwin, 88, of Freeburg, Illinois, born on September 18, 1927, in Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Freeburg Care Center with her family by her side.
Imogene’s personality, zest, and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered. In her younger years she was an avid bowler, and taught bowling in East St. Louis. She was a kitchen supervisor for an adult care center and also worked at Silver Dollar City selling ice cream. Imogene loved volunteering at her former churches, Maranatha Church of God in Reed Springs, Missouri and Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Brownsburg, Indiana. She served as a Sunday school teacher for over 20 years. She also enjoyed Cardinal’s games, fishing, singing, and dancing. Imogene and her sister were known to clear the dance floor at any event doing the jitterbug. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Joseph Bernard Hosp, her second husband, Charles F. Weinert; both parents, John and Emma, nee Conklin, Goodwin; her brothers, Jack Goodwin, Ralph Goodwin, and Bobby Goodwin.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving children; Barry (Laverne) Hosp, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Vicky (Charles) Caravia, of Belleville, Illinois, and Cindy (Charles) Rodgers, of Brownsburg, Indiana; her grandchildren, Gregory (Chris) Hosp, Tamara (Dean) Goersch, Phillip (Sarah) Caravia, Paul (Janna) Caravia, Windy Rodgers, and Nicole (John) Quasebarth; her great-grandchildren, Ron, Paige, Austin, Shelbye, Joseph, Grant, Garrett, Hayden, and one bundle of joy on the way, Jackson, one sister Mary Lou “Moo” Randall-Baldwin, of Salem, Illinois and her sister-in-law, Marcella Goodwin, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the Freeburg Care Center in Illinois and thank them for their care. Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00pm-8:00pm Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairview Heights.
Funeral Service: Services will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 11:00am Anchor of Life Assembly of God Church, located at 200 Eiler Rd, Belleville, Illinois 62223. Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery following all services.
